Town Profile

The Municipality of Alitagtag is a 4th Class Municipality and is a generally peaceful town in the Heart of Batangas.

It is about 17 Kilometers from Batangas City, the capital of the province, and about 101 kilometers from Manila. It is for this reason that Alitagtag is zoned as one of the residential corridors of the South.  The place also belongs to the Taal Volcano Protected Landscapes (TVPL) as this coastal town also possesses a majestic and picturesque perspective of Taal Lake and Volcano.

The Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) projects an illustrious future for the town as it has the potential for vast residential developments as it is right beside industrialized cities and municipalities.

Currently, agriculture and employment services are the main sources of income among its people. The municipality is also noted for its karosa (float)-making industry and for its "Tapusan Festival" which highlights the people's faith, craftsmanship and artistry.
